Cover Letter Tips
How do you write a cover letter that will persuade a hiring manager to select your resume? A cover letter should be personalized to each company or organization that you are sending it to. Never address cover letters to "Dear Sir" or "To whom it may concern." Always include the name of the person in charge of hiring or who is conducting the job search. If you do not know the name of the person to address it to, call or email the company to find out.Use the opening paragraph to introduce yourself, state the position that you are applying for and include two qualifications that make you a perfect candidate for the job. In the body of the letter, relate how your previous job experience supports the qualifications that you stated in the introduction. Provide examples on how these skills helped you accomplish your goals. Explain how your accomplishments can benefit the company you are seeking employment with. Refer to your resume, but never repeat it.
