Pharmacy Technician Salary Will Shoot Up When?

I found out about this pharmacy technician job from a friend who was then taking his training to be a pharmacy technician. Both of us are only high school graduates and one can be a pharmacy technician with only a high school diploma. It"s not easy to be a pharmacy technician, but it can be a very satisfying job as well. There were days that I was standing in my feet most of the time in the pharmacy, and there were days I might be lifting boxes of medicines for the stock inventories. It"s a tough job but when your customers leave the pharmacy satisfied, your tired feeling instantly goes away, too, meaning you did your job real well.

Two things that you can really count on when you enter this field are the job security it offers and a stable pharmacy technician salary. Opportunities for career advancement will be there for you to take advantage of; it all depends on how hard you are willing to work for them. If you strive for it, you will be rewarded, as the pharmacist you"re working for won"t hesitate to promote you if he thinks your deserving of it. For myself and my family"s sake, I"m working doubly hard to be promoted. I"m confident that my employer will appreciate the hard work I"m putting in, and that is what our patients expect from us also.

The hourly rate of pharmacy technician salary for entry level position is very competitive compared to other entry-level work. My starting salary when I was first hired for this job was $12 an hour and now, I"m aiming for an increase of about $18 as I gain more experience. For my career advancement, I"m aiming to be promoted to a supervisory position someday. To do that, I must further develop my skills by continuing my studies and having myself certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or by the Institute of Certification of Pharmacy Technicians. Additional benefits like store discounts, health insurance, paid vacation and holidays, paid sick leave, a 401(k) retirement plan and other benefits are given to me, aside from my pharmacy technician salary.

Before the year ends, I will be taking my Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam to be certified. Although certified pharmacy technicians receive higher pharmacy technician salary, that is not my reason why I"m seeking my certification. I want to give our patients the assurance that I can do my duties excellently, as proof of my certification as a pharmacy technician. Personally, I feel rewarded in the thought that I"m learning more about my self, and that I"m growing as a person as I gain more experience in this work. I used to feel bitter and depressed when I wasn"t a stockbroker anymore, but now, it"s a blessing in disguise because I"m so much more happier being a pharmacy technician.
